Rental Webhook

A private business automation tool operated by Elliott Jempty.

Purpose of this application

Rental Webhook is a private Node.js service that automates the record-keeping behind a small trailer and equipment rental operation. Its sole purpose is to receive completed rental agreements from DocuSeal and record each rental into the operator's own Google Workspace account.

Specifically, when a renter signs a rental agreement, the application:

• Appends a single row describing the rental into the operator's private Google Sheet.
• Creates a calendar event in the operator's "Rentals" calendar covering the pickup-to-return window.
• Saves the renter as a contact entry in the operator's Google Contacts.
• Uploads a vCard (.vcf) backup file into a dedicated "Rental Contacts" folder in the operator's Google Drive.
• Generates and emails a Stripe invoice when the renter selects credit-card payment.

Who uses Rental Webhook

This is not a multi-tenant SaaS product. It is an internal tool used solely by the operator of the rental business to manage their own data. Renters do not create accounts in this application; they interact only with the underlying DocuSeal contract and, when applicable, with Stripe's hosted payment page.

Google API services used

Rental Webhook authenticates to Google APIs as the operator (not the renter) in order to write rental data into the operator's own account. The application requests the following scopes:

• Google Sheets — to append a row per signed rental.
• Google Calendar — to create an event covering the rental window.
• Google People (Contacts) — to save renter contact details.
• Google Drive — to upload a vCard backup file into a dedicated folder.

The application does not read the operator's other contacts, files, sheets, or calendar events. Full details of data handling are in the Privacy Policy.
